Scale models form the foundation of the tools we use as architects. We use them to predict the impact of a new design on its surroundings. Scale models don’t lie. They have a front and back, an inside and outside, and they are tangible. At an urban planning level, the use of large urban planning scale models and gigantic mock-ups of façade fragments during the design phase of buildings and details helps us and the design team create the best projects. Our scale model studio is well-equipped with an industrial laser cutter, a large 3D printer, and foam cutters.
