I work at Moke as an architect and project lead. In my role, I constantly shift between design and execution. As I’m involved in different phases of various projects, my work is highly varied. One moment I’m collaborating with a client on design studies, the next I’m meeting with the project team to discuss the next steps towards implementation. I also make regular site visits to carry out aesthetic inspections of projects under construction.
One project I consider particularly valuable is Magnus in Lent, Nijmegen. The collaboration within the construction team was highly intensive. As the project was largely realised using prefabrication and without scaffolding, extensive coordination was required beforehand to achieve a well-considered design. When construction then progresses at a rapid pace, you see the result of that intensive collaboration – something to be proud of together.
Travelling abroad is a key source of inspiration for me. The way materials, colours, and urban structures are applied elsewhere offers fresh perspectives on how we build and live in the Netherlands. I draw heavily on these insights in my work.
