Salvador Dalistraat
A new district has been built in Vlissingen: Middengebied. For this neighbourhood, Gianni designed all 42 homes on Salvador Dalistraat, one of the main access roads to the area. While the road and pavement follow a perfectly straight line towards Pablo Picassoplein and President Rooseveltlaan, he arranged the houses in a subtle diamond shape, giving the street its own distinctive character.

Playful and private
Each residence features a façade that shifts inward and outward, providing maximum privacy for residents and a pleasant, intimate atmosphere. The dining room and kitchen are oriented towards the street, while the living room features large windows overlooking the garden. The bedrooms are located on the first floor, where perforated metal ventilation panels on the exterior contribute to the ambience inside the home by allowing playful streams of light to filter in.
Bold, bright, and spacious
The residences have been designed as a series – slightly different in colour and construction, yet clearly related. Brickwork laid in a tile pattern and brass- and bronze-coloured roof structures give the development a bold and contemporary character. The metal elements beautifully reflect the morning and evening sunlight, giving the entire street a soft glow. The subtle diamond-shaped arrangement of the homes enhances the street’s remarkable sense of space.
