Schumanpark

Flexibility was the key word for the four buildings with 27 business units that were to be built at the industrial park on Europaweg in Apeldoorn. Gianni and Ludo came up with a smart and cost-efficient design for the multi-tenant buildings, which were completed in 2009. All units in the buildings can be set up completely independently and according to the users’ own preference.

Sturdy neutral façade
The façades of the building have been kept as transparent as possible. On the first floor, solid steel beams support wide overhanging window frames. The closed surfaces are constructed of dark red hand-formed brick with minimal detailing, creating a robust and neutral building that allows users to customise it as they please. At the time of completion, they could even select their own façade detailing, such as a loading door or glass front, depending on their business needs. The buildings are of different sizes and are loosely organised in the landscape, surrounded by a neat row of trees. This way, the area has its own space in the green periphery of the city of Apeldoorn.
